MBL was founded in Uganda in 2025 to develop the next generation of African carbon projects with integrity at their core. The company brings development closer to the ground, to the households and farms where the credits are actually produced, and works as both an advisor and a co-developer, sharing the risk and the reward with its partners.
For most households in Rwanda, cooking means hours over smoke and an open flame, and that burden falls mainly on women. This project puts clean electric pressure cookers in 100,000 homes, cutting the smoke, the fuel costs and the time spent cooking, while removing around one tonne of CO2e per household each year. Because the cookers run on metered electricity, every saving is measured on real data, making the credits far more verifiable than fuel-based clean cooking projects. Built for Rwanda's Article 6.2 programme and aligned with the Gold Standard, with documentation already submitted to a government that is driving it forward.
